16MN seamless steel pipe is a low alloy high strength structural steel, carbon content is 0.1%-0.25%, adding the main alloy elements manganese, silicon, vanadium, niobium and titanium; Its total alloying content is less than 3%. According to the strength is divided into 300, 350, 400 and 450MPa four levels.

Usage

The steel used for Bridges is 16Mnq, car girders are 16MnL, and pressure vessels are 16MnR.

This kind of steel depends on adjusting the carbon content (C) to improve the mechanical properties of steel. Therefore, according to the level of carbon content, this kind of steel can be divided into:

Low carbon steel - carbon content is generally less than 0.25%, such as 10, 20 steel;

Medium carbon steel - carbon content between 0.25 ~ 0.60%, such as 35, 45 steel;

High carbon steel -- generally greater than 0.60% carbon. This type of steel is not normally used to make steel pipes.
